eye pain

Hi Ladies does anyone know whether its normal to have such horrible eye pain and headache after vomiting. I'm 17 wks still experiencing hyperemesis and when ever I vomit I get this dreadful eye pain and horrible headache. If this is normal is there something I can put on my eye or head to lessen the pain duration. Help please I can nearly open my eyes.

I am 11weeks pregnant and experience eye pain and headache after vomiting too.  I am also an eye doctor.  Anytime you do something to increase the pressure inside your head, such as throwing up, you can increase the pressure in your eyes.  This can cause pain, which should be temporary, but if you have hyperemesis like me you may feel the pain often.  It's never a bad idea to see your eye doctor to make sure the pressure is not staying high.  You're not alone...I'm going through the same thing.  Make sure you go in to your doctor for possibly Zofran and I.v. Fluids so you don't get too dehydrated.  Feel better:-)

Hi, I've worked for an ophthalmologist up until I had my last daughter. Severe eye pain if on going needs to be checked out by an optometrist. Sounds like eye pressure from the migraines. I also have severe migraines. If you also loose vision you should definitely get checked out as you might have an underlying problem that needs to be addressed. Good luck!:)

It sounds like you are having migraines. Is your blood pressure high? Try to drink a lot of extra fluids. If you cant stop vomiting you should go to your dr for treatment. I hope you feel better soon.
