If it doesn't go away caffeine helps. I got headaches so bad my dr told me to drink a soda and it always helped.. she also prescribed me caffeine pills but they didnt work as fast as soda does.
Thanks everybody! I will definitely call my obgyn first thing on Monday and ask about Tylenol, because these headaches are kicking my butt. I already have a hard time functioning at work because of my health, so headaches on top of it just makes it worse.
I was told no Aleve!! Acetaminophen at low doses is safe (in moderation of course) Try taking 1 reg. Strength with a small amount of coffee. The caffeine in combination should make the pain go away
the list I was given at my OB says Tylenol is basically all I can take, but like a few of these women have said.. I'd still ask my OB just to make sure.
every baby & every body is different.. you may be able to take something else, but you'll get a lot of different answers here.
only your OB can determine what's safe for you AND your baby.
good luck!! (((:
My doctor approved me for aleve and ibuprofen in the second trimester. I get awful stress headaches and I don't know if you can have it or not but maybe try a little caffeine like a cup of coffee. A small amount of caffeine helps alot with mine with my doctor's approval. However I think it helps me only because I am essentially caffeine free.
This is my research in a way. I have read a few articles on it and know Tylenol is a class b drug during pregnancy. I've also skimmed an article on the Denmark study, and what I understood is that chronic use of it for several weeks is what correlates to an increased risk of ADHD. I just phrased my question poorly, what I should have asked was has anyone else taken Tylenol during pregnancy. Sadly I can't have a no medication pregnancy because of certain health issues, but I'm glad that you gals can do that.
My dr prescribed me magnesium because I was having so many horrible headaches. It's worth talking to your dr about it.
Don't take Tylenol just because someone on a forum said it's safe. Please research & call your doctor first. My midwife told me to call her right away if I had any severe headaches or saw floaters during my pregnancy.
Just a few months ago CNN ran a report about tylenol in pregnancy being linked to ADHD from a study done in Denmark.
I don't know details, I did a no medication (including otc meds) pregnancy... but it's worth investigating yourself.
Try & figure out the root of the headache first before you try & mask it with a painkiller.
Good luck!
I have headaches everyday. It hasn't been too bad all day until a hour or so ago and now it hurts pretty good. I don't take meds though I try to tough it out.
I meant that stinks, didn't realize they edit posts like that.
Aw that ***** I have extra strength, so hopefully one pill should be good then. :) Thanks!
Yep tyenol is safe as long as you dont take over the recommended dose! I get headaches bad sonetimes and i can only take ibprophen but i cant take that while pregnant so im stuck with the headace :(
