fibroid

At my 32wk ultrasound/growth scan, they found a somewhat sizeable fibroid. I'm not overly concerned about it, as it isn't impacting the baby, but was curious about any mom's who've dealt with it during delivery. They've told about issues it could cause me during delivery & are glad they know of it ahead of time to take action as needed.

Mine was in the funds (top of the uterus) so didn't end up being a problem during birth and also had normal blood loss. Everything was very strait forward and normal so fingers crossed for you.

They said mine was about 5cm & told me about the complications (cutting into it if a csection is done & possible hemorrhaging), but wanted to hear about personal experiences, so thank you for your story/post. Not sure of it's location, but don't recall being told it's in the cervix, so sounds like I'm lucky in that sense.

I have an 8cm fibroid. Dealt with it last pregnancy and this one, depending in where it is really makes a world of difference as far as delivery. Your biggest complication as long as it's not blocking anything is heavy bleeding after delivery. Last pregnancy they discussed c-section with me because it was partially blocking my cervix, they decided at 36 weeks to not do the c, because the dr was afraid they would cut it by accident. We delivered my son early instead to keep him small...he was 5 lbs 6oz...it was horrible and we had a very difficult time getting him out. Needless to say I switched hospitals with this pregnancy. This time around I'm currently 29 weeks, during the anatomy scan they sent in a dr who let us know that there's a 98% chance of a c-section, slim chance that the fibroid would shrink or move completely out of the way of my cervix. Also said they should have done a c-section last time after looking at my records from my son's delivery. Sorry for the long story lol this isn't something I have come across often on here. In the end it's all about where the fibroid is
