first ultrasound

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my first ultrasound is Thursday. I'm very excited but also extremely nervous. What can I expect? Do I have to go with a full blatter? I so scared there won't be a heart beat like there should be. I've tried for so long now I'm paranoid about everything! Please calm me down!!!!

It is exciting. Congrats to those veto their first u/s this week. The first appt al be the vaginal u/s (empty bladder) and a pap smear depending on when your last one was. Actually goes pretty quick. They will tell you about genetic testing options and ask a couple questions. Fairly quick. I was kinda let down cuz I built it up so much. Stoked that i got to see the heartbeat and the yolk sac disappearing.

I was so nervous too because our baby is so important to us but everything went fine :) i went when i was 11 weeks so i probably got to see more than you will be able to if you go to the dr first dont freak out if they don't find the heart beat with the hand Doppler thing they didn't the first time with me but i was going straight to my sonogram after and the nurse wasnt worried the first thing i lookedfor was the little heart beating and there it was beating away and perfect :D about the bladder
Question it depends on what type of sonogram they gave my a transvaginal sonogram and i had to pee right before because they said that anything in me could mess up the picture

You don't have to have a full bladder, with you so early they will do a vaginal u/s so they may ask you to empty it before hand. baby won't look like much just yet like a little bean lol, but you will be able to see the little heart beating :) I'm sure everything will be just great! Congrats!

I'm sure everything will be okay. I believe its best to have a full bladder especially since you aren't very far along.
