I get the flu every time. It's not as bad as the real flu but it knocks me down for about 4 days.

I have never cotton the flu shot or any of my kids. We have only bottom it once from my sister in law daughter that came over with it cause I had to watch her. Other then that we make sure we wash and try to stay away from sick ppl. Or if were sick we stay home. Just my opinion tho. No disrespect

Although the flu shot contains a dead virus, people still may get sick from the 1000000 other ingredients in it. That's why people who have egg allergies were advised against it up until a year ago. You won't get the "flu virus" but if you have a sensitivity to other chemical compounds you may fall I'll. Luckily they now offer a preservative free version which in my opinion should be the only one. Im not advising that you don't get the vaccine, I'm just throwing an opinion out from the opposite side :)

oh, well let me say this.. the flu shot doesn't give you the flu, BUT if you've been exposed to any sort of virus, cold, etc, & it's in your system during the time you take the shot, it can worsen those symptoms. that's why they recommend you getting the shot when you're feeling well.. DON'T get the shot if you're feeling under the weather, at all! OR if you've been around/exposed to someone sick. just an FYI.

everyone's immune system is different, but the flu shot can be affected by things of that nature.. but the shot itself doesn't make you sick. just an FYI! ((:

Thanks ladies! The only time I ever got the flu was 2 years ago. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and it was the worst experience of my life!!!! Just nervous bc I've never had the shot. I guess I'll just prepare for a sore arm!! :-)

last year was the second time, EVER, that I've gotten the flu shot.. I haven't gotten sick the past 2 years, and I'll definitely be getting it this year for my 3rd year in a row.. our baby boy is due Oct. 24th, and I'm not risking his life! I've had the flu, ONCE, and I pray I never suffer like that again.. nor my family.

so many people think it still has the live virus in it, but it doesn't.. my parents are convinced that they got the flu from the flu shot the one time they tried it lol - I'll convince them otherwise one day, but for now.. I'll be getting mine every year! ((:

I got the flu shot year before last. I didn't get the "flu" but I did get some mild cold-like symptoms for a couple of days. It's mandatory at my job for us to get it.

The flu shot won't give you the flu. Its a dead virus, it can't make you sick. You may feel a bit run down for a couple days and have a sore arm bit that's about it.

I got my flu shot for the first time in my life last Thursday. I didn't get sick. My arm was a little sore for a couple of days though. :) I always had the impression I would get sick from it, but nothing happened.
