flu vaccine

Hey Guys.

I asked my OB office yesterday if I should have the multi dose vaccine or the preservative free vaccine.  They said either was fine. I had the multi dose today at work. Now, that I have read some articles online. I'm worried I may have done something that can hurt my baby. Any advice or knowledge to offer.

Thank you both do much. I have calmed down but it is still nice to hear others advice and knowledge.

It doesn't matter. They are both fine. A lot of places (and people) will try to scare you with stories of thimerosol but the here are the facts on it: Yes, it is a mercury derived preservative. It is added to many multi-dose vials of vaccines in order to inhibit the growth of other microorganisms inside the vial once penetrated. It is not harmful to you and your baby, as it takes about a few days to completely pass through mom's system and does not cross the placenta. Also there is more (harmful) mercury in a serving of tuna than in all the vaccines given over the course of your lifetime combined.

My OB told me not to get the multi-dose. They should have given you a thimerosal free one!!
