I don't take prenatals vitamins because they made me sick & throw up each time. I told my doc I wanted to stop, he said it's okay as long I take folic acid & irons pills (for my anemia) I will be okay. Those are the only 2 important ones, if you not anemic, you don't have to take iron pills. But just take folic acid tablet, it's a tinny pill once a day, which helps prevent spinal bifida & helps with baby brain development. The rest of vitamins you can get from food, vegetables, & fruits.

What I want it to say that I dont really trust that those pills contains really those vitamins...but that is another issue:(
But what I wonder why our mothers and grandma didn't take any vitamins..and they had healthy children's. ..
My question is to whom toke vitamins within the pregnancy..did this has any bad effects on your health or the health of the baby later on???
Thank you

I didnt take a single vitamin my first pregnancy and my daughter is just fine but with that being said I also know of someone whose baby didnt make it because the mom wasn't getting enough folic acid.

pregnant women need a good dose of folic acid in the first three months to prevent birth defects like spina bifida as the baby is forming..never really heard it linked to anemia..thought that was iron..but im no expert lol

Folic acid is essential for brain development. In my opinion anything to help my baby in the years to come is worth taking I don't like taking meds but baby is #1
