food questions?

Is it true that I'm not supposed to eat hot dogs while pregnant. . What If you fry them to Steaming hot or cook them over a bonfire?  And what about raw mushrooms?  I love raw mushrooms on my salad.. Am I only supposed to eat them cooked?  Thanks :)

lol! I mean they really are okay as long as they're heated up.. but I'm just not sure about all the sodium & preservatives in them..

just ask your doctor about them! (((:

awe, hold your head up high!! lol at least you're cooking them! but I know they have a lot of sodium & stuff in them.. eventually that could cause problems with swelling & stuff I think.. not positive.

you should be fine though!! ((:

I was craving them around the time I went to my first OB appointment.. she said they were fine as long as they were cooked obviously & just to not make it an everyday thing. they're just not healthy.. but she said she had a patient who ate 6 a day b/c that was her craving!! but she didn't recommend it! lol

once I asked her that, me & my fiancé went to Hardee's for lunch, I got a hotdog.. and couldn't even finish it lol - I guess I just had a taste for one & haven't had one since.. I'm 12w4d now! (((:

Haha yes what they are made of is pretty gross. . I try not to think about it when I eat it.  The only time I eat hot dogs is camping Cuz its easy, yummy over the fire and well it won't attract bears.. As Much lol.

Schmalzy you are making me hungry now! Enjoy your campfire dogs! As long as you don't eat like a whole pack by yourself you should be fine lol... They also did a recent study that showed when nitrates are consumed with vitamin c there is a decrease in how much of the nitrates are turned into the harmful chemical

With hotdogs just don't overdo it! Most hotdogs are pretty cooked so the risk of listeria is low, however they do contain nitrates which should be taken minimally while pregnant.

People say not to eat certain foods..but come on now. They ate these foods years ago and turned out fine haha.. but yes, you can still have hotdogs..just make sure they are cooked thoroughly..like any meat. Also, I love mushrooms raw or cooked and had them my pregnancy. Im 34 weeks and everything is good:)
