Thanks ladies! It's amazing how worked up we can get ourselves. I can't wait for my u/s. I'm sure I will feel much better after it.
they do test you a lot. Blood work, maybe not so much, as I've only had blood drawn through my pregnancy the initial appointment to do routine pregnancy tests, then again because they claimed they either forgot to do some tests, or the lost my bloodwork (yikes...), then again to test for gestational diabetes, and had my pregnancy not become high risk due to my cervix, I wouldn't have been tested for anything else blood wise. But be prepared to give urine samples as often as you see your doctor. They took mine at the start of every appointment, and it was the first thing they asked for when I had any complications each time. It's routine. And gives them good indications without constbatly swabing you or manually checking you, which can help jump start labor if they keep messing with your cervix. You're all right girl. No worries!
Dont fret its normal you may have a uti and they just need to give you a script. Also they test for a infection that adults carry. I had it they just may need antibiotics. Its not dangerous to us but can be to a baby. Took 3 iv bags to cure it. I was 12 weeks with my last daughter. Its some weird 3 letter infection like hgb or something lol. Cant remember.
Yep its all routine. They are wanting a baseline for your health so they can better track your ups and downs during pregnancy. I had six little vials of blood drawn and a urine test during the intake appointment. Enjoy the ultra sound if your low riskand healthy yyou'll only get two or three more.
I agree they do general blood test And the ultrasound is to check how far along you are. Urine is to check for protein levels and to check for uti's. Routine test.
Your thinking way to much into it. Your going to get a lot of blood work, pee samples Etc during your pregnancy . It's normal, if anything is wrong your dr will let you know. But don't stress out over it
They are primarily looking for infection and protein when they check your urine. Proteins in the urine can be early indicators of problems. The ultrasound is to confirm that your dates are correct. The sooner they know the better they can keep treatment on track. A lot of drs are confirming dates now. I wouldn't panic if I were you. Congrats! :)
