Oh wow!! I'm glad it's a normal thing! I was freaking out!! Thank you girls!! I hope everyone have a very blessed Christmas♥
It's normal. It happened to me after both pregnancies. The second time it took about two weeks for the swelling to go down.
I had epidurals with both of mine and swelled up, my dr told me to drink one big soda or ice tea and that would get rid of the extra fluid andit worked right away.
I swelled up like crazy on my left side after a failed epidural. The hhospital nurses told me to take hospital strength ibuprofen to help bring the swelling down. 3 200mg ibuprofen pills equals one hospital strength pill. If you're breast feeding I would talk to your doc first
I swelled up like a balloon after my pregnancies too. Plus your body had alot of fluid while pregnant... and if you had an IV drip with fluids it's just added to the all the fluid you already are retaining :) it will go away eventually. Just make sure you let your doc know so they can monitor it :)
I would think it's normal, they clearly gave you a whole bunch of fluid all at one time. I'd expect to swell up though I wouldn't be happy about it either. Hopefully it will get worked through your system soon.
It's likely from your iv! My epidural didn't work with my first ether, and I had massive amounts of iv fluids after.. pitocin, normal saline and more drugs to make my uterus shrink.back up because it wouldn't. About 2 days later everything swelled my feet and legs looked like a tree trunk. It Took days to go away, That is likely all That is going on but it wouldn't hurt to call your doc office and let them know just incase. Drink fluids and lower your salt intake.
