April babies

anyone having a baby boy in April? I'm a first time mum and currently 31+ 3 and feeling a little anxious about labour but looking forward to meeting my little man, I'm looking to go without pain relief apart from gas and air, anyone got any tips?

Hoping to find out soon so i know whether or not He's too big to push out. Hoping to deliver natural.  Had a csection with the last and recovery was so painfuk. Definitely getting the epidural again.

Had preeclampsia with my first baby. It was bad, no epidural, i wanted to  but thank god my sister was there  to keep  telling me i could do it. And it was fine. Was induced at 36 weeks. With my 2nd pregnsncy now my dr said i was in high risk again, but she has been keeping a close look. Will see how it goes for me...

I'm due April 23rd with my 3rd and last. I have preeclampsia which I had with my first also and she was born at 35 weeks, the Dr wants to take this baby at 36 weeks but start the steroid shots at 32 weeks to help with the baby's lungs. I'm very nervous and stressed about that. My baby will probably come the end of March, beginning of April if I let her take him/her (we don't wanna know the sex) but it will be a scheduled csection. Good luck to all you mommies!

I'm due April 22nd with my 2nd and it's a boy like my first! I had an epidural with my first and am planning to have one again with this second baby. I liked being aware of what was going on and not focusing on the pain and "trying" to relax. Also being able to watch my husband's reaction was priceless as well, so epidural the second time is an easy decision. Those that go without I think are superwomen and more power to them! I'm not quite up to superwoman status yet haha.

I'm having a boy in April.  This is my 2nd baby.  Epidural is like the best thing ever. You will not feel it when they give it to you. I'm going to have an epidural with this one. My daughter didn't have any problems with it.  And it helped me through labor. .

The main thing is to embrace the contractions. They are what is going to make it possible for you to get a baby into the world. If you think of them that way and try to work with them rather than fight them, you will be able to go without an epidural no problem. Working with them means breathing deeply through each one, and trying to relax. My sister in law noticed during one delivery that if she grimaced during a contraction, the pain actually intensified. Because when she was grimacing, she was also tensing up.

Our bodies are equipped with a fight or flight mechanism that can be very helpful at times, but not during labor. If you get stressed or anxious enough, your body will reroute it's energy into your arms and legs. In times of unrest, this has allowed a laboring woman to get to a safer place before delivering her baby, if necessary. But in a safe environment, all it does is slow down your labor. So my advice is you surround yourself with people that have had positive birth experiences and listen to them. This should help you to lower your anxiety about the coming miracle of life. Good luck, you'll do great! (and if you end up needing more painful relief, please know that it is not a sign of weakness)

I'm a ftm expecting a boy in mid April. I am also hoping to go without an epidural. I'm type 1 diabetic though and unless he comes before thr 17th, I will be induced... so I'm fearful that my disbetes may interfere with me getting what I really want. I do not want a c section and i don't want an epidural.
The epidural freaks me out more than the actual labor part!
