You need to ask your Dr! Every lab does it different so this could all be wrong info.
You can drink water up to the test time. But only water. You cannot drink water during the test. Water hydrates your veins and does not effect your sugar. Fast from food and other beverages at least 8 hrs prior to the test. I failed my one hr and they want me to do the three hr again now that I'm 28 weeks. I told my Dr that I refuse and if she thinks I have diabetes then move forward with her recommendations. I live 1 hr from the Dr office. They usually make me wait one hr to be seen. Then they do the 3 hr test and poke me over ten times because they cannot find a vein. Then another 1 hr drive home. Too long for me. I get sickness a lot when I do not eat.
Depends on the OBGYN.my first I couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight and my appointment to start the test was at 11AM. This dr I am seeing now said I do not have to fast at all just no sugary foods and I can drink anything until I start the test.
It depends. I didn't have to fast for mine. Check with the doctor
I was told I didn't have to fast and that I can eat a light meal before I do it.
I was told not to eat after midnight the night before.
I had to fast from 12 midnight until that nx morning after the test and I had to do a 3hr test it wasn't fun but every Dr is different so u may want ask your Dr.
My 1 hour they said I could eat (but I suggest not doing so) and I was borderline so they made me do the 3 hour and that was a 12 hour fast. Good luck!
My doctor only had me fast for 2 hrs prior, but it varies from doctor to doctor. I would check with the doctor to be sure.
From twelve o clock the night before
For my glucose test it was 2 hours of fasting. Some doctors require 8 hours. I would check with your doctor to find out what their policies are.
