gestation time confusion...

Went to Planned Parenthood for confirmation of pregnancy today. Their fancy computer says I'm 9 wks 1d and there is no way. My due date is January 2. Last period started March 28. She wrote down March 27, due date January 2, and 9wks 1d gestation. Does this make sense to anyone? (They didnt do any exams, just a urine test)

My LMP was March 16 and I'm 8 weeks today.  That calculation just doesn't make sense.  The due date sounds right, but not 9 weeks.  I definitely wouldn't worry about it.  Make your first prenatal appointment ASAP, and they will give you a better estimate.

I agree... sounds like she wrote it upside down... march 28 from now is 6 weeks ago... not 9 weeks. .. would place conception about 4 weeks ago...

If you menstrual cycle started on March 28 you would only be 6 week you start the gestation period by the first day of your last period. I would try going somewhere else and once you have your first ultrasound they will be able to give you a more accurate due date

It wouldnt surprise me if she wrote the number upside down, but she also yold me 9 wks...but then again she also wrote my birth year wrong and corrected it. She wrote 98 originally and had to fix it to 88. I wont be going to that place for anything else. That's for sure.

Plus you subtract 2 weeks from that. If you definitely are 9 weeks 1 day pregnant, you would have conceived 7 weeks 1 day ago. They count the two weeks leading up to ovulation. My lmp started on 12/26--So I'm due 40 weeks from that date, but I know I conceived between 1/9 & 1/12.

Im 8weeks 2days due date dec 18. Last period ended march 17. Plan parent hood and my OB gave me the same due date. You have to know when your cycle ended and started for them to give you an accurate date without examination.

Well they count it from the first day of your last period so in all reality they're saying you're pregnant before you even are. I got pregnant between the 22nd and 25th of January(I know for a fact) but they count it from the 11th because that's when my period was and that's what my baby measures because that's how they do it. So in reality you got pregnant probably 7 weeks ago maybe 6 but that's not how babies are measured.

Well, the problem this brings up is that they wrote down 9wks and bf and I haven't been together that long. (I am aware of how bad that might sound, but there is no chance of anything else with anyone else because it was months before him since I had been with anyone else) This was very much a surprise because we were using spermicide contraceptive and weren't trying for a baby yet, but we are still very much excited about it. I just hate that someone's miscalculation on paper would make him worry. He says he trusts me, but I know it's still a concern in the back of his mind. I know what's true, and that's why I'm not really worried, but rather concerned with how it's effecting him...

Going by your lmp Jan 2 is an accurate due date. However we all know that people ovulate at different times amd everyone's cycle is different. For me my cycles ARE NOT 28 days. They go anywhere from 30 to 35 days in length. Dont stress about it, wait until you get your ultrasound and they will be able to give you a more accurate date. My ultrasound showed that my due date by lmp was a week and a half off.
