gestational diabetes! help me

Okay I went to midwife for my 1 hour test. I got 174. I dont get how this possible.  I eat somewhat healthy not a lot of meat but eggs a lot. I exercise everyday I feel better than I have in a LONG time. How did I get gestational diabetes?  About 2 hours before the test I ate egg, peppers, onion,  and a little salt together and water. Is that what messed with it. I do not want to take the 3 hour test! I fainted and threw up last test from the shot let alone the next one where I dont eat. The drink they gave me really messed with my ADD I couldn't concentrate.  Someone help me!

*The increased insulin normally covers the increase in blood sugar. With GD your body does not produce enough insulin causing the spike in blood sugar.

In pregnancy everything slows down to allow for the baby to absorb nutrition.  Because of this your pancreas typically produces more insulin. Sometimes your body doesn't produce enough insulin. It's nothing that you do wrong. It just happens. You'll have to take the three hour test to determine whether or not you have GD. I failed the one hour and didn't pass completely the three hour. I dune have full blown GD,  but am considered to have glucose intolerance. I just have to watch my diet a bit more carefully.  It'll be okay:)
