I had it with my first. Just drink nothing but water and small, more frequent meals. I had to eat 3 small meals and 3 snacks a day, all 2.5 horse apart. Its overwhelming at first, but not bad once you get used to it. Don't worry to much yet, lots of people fail the first test but are perfectly fine:)
I am detected with Gestational diabetes as well and failed post glucose test :( was damn worried and met to diabetelogist where he had suggested to monitor blood sugar 3times a day along with 3meals +3/4 snacks in my diet. Its been just two days I am following above and can see control as well,30 mints walk is suggested feom dietician (can walk in 10-10 mints set)if not altogether. I am due in May first week (3-6th),currently in 32nd week (8th month).Hoping to see my baby and this control soon. FYI (My tests results wr drastically bad 200+after glucose 1hr and 2hr)
I failed my 3 hr and have no risk factors my doctor was actually shocked. It isn't that bad but the diet is different for everyone. I've been doing it for a month now my diet is 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. Good luck its really not that bad and remember its not your fault.
Just watch what you eat. Keep your carbs and sugar intake low. The worst they do is stick you on insulin. Its really not that bad. Just remember 3 meals a day under 60 carbs and 3 snacks with 15 carbs. Cream cheese and pickles are a free food, I add them to almost everything. Popcorn is also awesome. You can eat a ton and stay in your carb range for snacks. I had gestational with my 3rd. Unfortunately mine turned into type 2 after I had her. I dont have to have insulin this pregnancy now because I follow my carb restrictions and drink lots of water.
I did way too much sugar with my daughter. I have heard of ppl failing the 1 hour but passing the 3 hour. I would just start watching your sugar in take. I was crazy with mine. I couldn't get enough. This time I am at least craving healthy.
I wouldn't worry too much.
I failed my 1 hour test but passed the 3 hour one.
I heard there's a greater chance at passing the 3 hour one.
My friend has gd though. She just has to check her blood 4 times a day and watch what she eats.
I'm sure you'll be fine. I was stressing out like crazy after I failed the 1 hour one but everything turned out fine!
