I got it with my first. They gave me the little machine to test my blood in the morning and after every meal. I had a nutritionist show me good foods and bad ones
I was diagnosed with my first. I saw a dietician and specialist every 2 weeks for the last couple months. They sent us to 'school' and taught us how to read lables and how to balance our meals to help keep glucose levels consistent.
I had to test my blood a few times a day and inject insulin once a day, then twice and eventually after every meal to keep everything normal. I followed the diet to a tee and still ended up being induced a few days early because my insulin levels.
BUT I delivered a healthy 6lb 10oz girl with no health concerns.
It went away for me immediately after i delivered... and you betcha i had a huge piece of cake!

Thank you for your replies. Does every person diagnosed have to have insulin injections or does it vary by person?
No it varies. I did not have to take any medication at all. My sis in law did pills and some do insulin shots.
I only have to poke myself 4 times a day .... but I personally still eat just cut my portions down .. I dnt drink soda just a bunch of water ... for them to give u ou insulin it depends on your levels when you tested... what was your numbers if u dont mind me asking
My number was 135 and she said the normal range is between 117-128.
Im not a doctor but I dint believe those numbers are bad .. if your in the 200s then most def a concern but follow what doc says ... its very difficult not to be able to eat certain food in big portions but through prayer I been making it through. .. was this the 1 hour or 3 hour test
I was told normal was up to 139 during pregnancy. Mine were 143 and had to do the 3 hr which I passed with flying colors
I currently have GD, I check my blood levels four times a day and am able to control it with diet. Just be careful with added sugar items, my blood sugar wasn't that much out of range when I was tested so I haven't had to do any insulin.
I have it. Mines just being controlled by my diet. Its done the trick for me so far.
