getting a tubal ligation....yes or no?

I am currently pregnant with my third baby. 2 boys and another little boy on the way. I was really hoping for my little girl this time, but God has different plans. My dr had me sign the paperwork for getting my tubes tied, as a 30 day notice is required, but I am having serious doubts. This will be my third c-section as well. So my dr cannot tell me yes or no I should but did say with multiple surgerys your risk is increased greatly if pregnant again. Also looking up the procedure online scares me. And I'm not sure if I am absolutely done having children. Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone. I dont know if I want to be done having kids and for that reason I don't want the procedure...but I am also worried about the risks of having another child with three previous c sections so think i should as I would hate to see something terrible happen to the health of another baby or myself because we tried one more time for another baby. Ahhh. Such hard decisions. But I appreciate all the comments.

I'm having my 3rd c-section on the 29th. My doctor has also recommended a tubal and I am fine with that. I know that I have extreme amounts of scar tissue that was found during my second which has my doctor worried about this one. She said I could have more kids if I wanted but I would have a higher risk of complications. Luckily I have a boy and a girl and this is another girl. I also have a step son. I'm only 26 but I am sure that I don't want to risk it to have anymore. I had the mirena and would not recommend it, mine embedded in my uterus and I had a miscarriage 6months after removal. It took 18 months to conceive again after having no problems  getting pregnant with my first 2.

I am in the same boat as you, 3rd csection, signed for my tubal, 31+1 pregnant, and I'm only 22. My doc has pretty much told me I have no choice because if I get pregnant again I am putting myself and baby in danger. I am also very high risk for uterine cancer so he wants to do a hysterectomy in the next two years. I am scared, I always thought I would have 5 or 6 kids, but I can't go through another miscarriage knowing it was my fault. And I sure don't want to leave my 3 kids without a mother because I was being selfish. I have went back and forth and finally decided that if I do decide I want another later on we will foster and adopt kids. It makes me very sad that I won't feel those kicks inside me anymore, but this pregnancy has been horrible so I am somewhat relieved lol.

I am just nervous how a tubal will affect my PCOS and POF

If you have ANY doubts...dont do it. You can always get it done later.
Im on my third and my dr has asked me 3 times. I said. No, no way. Im 26. This is my third. I just dont think Im ready to say Im done. If I won the lottery tomorrow Id have as many kids as I safely could have!
You never know what the future holds.

God forbid you should ever be in this situation....
But I knew someone who had their tubes tied and their yougest had lukemia and passed away around 2.
She was destroyed. Naturally. And she felt empty. Couple years later she was looking into reversals.
I lost touch with her I dont know if she was able to get that done ....what a nightmare though.

I had really good luck with the implanon arm implant birth control. Minimal side effects. Effective. Good for 4 years. They told me 3 but another dr said its actually 4. If after 4 yrs youre sure youre sure...then do it. ..
But I wouldnt do it if youre having ANY doubts.

Good luck

Don't recommend IUD, caused major problems and a miscarriage. Read the side affects they are real and I know many women who have said the same.

Do not do the sure. After my miscarriage last year I had the essure done and miscarried again months after testing that my tubes were blocked. I'm 37wks pregnant again after the essure failed me. Look on Facebook essure problem  groups you'll be fully informed

Ask you dr about the essure (sp) its an extremely less evasive for you and just as effective.

I would try the Mirena IUD first. It lasts 5 years and very few people have problems with it. I am about to have baby #2 and will be getting the IUD at my 6 week check up. Like you I'm not sure if I'm finished having children and the device can be taken out at any point. It also doesn't affect hormones or breast feeding. Good luck!
