I took my time and got ready. Hair and makeup. Do what you want and feel like doing. If you look good you will feel good no matter how long labor is.

Sick and tired of these negative nancys. If you will not care to do it why comment like you are better than someone else.

I'm sure you all will look incredibly beautiful and happy with your newborn -with or without makeup.

My sister had her bits waxed and a spray tan done at the salon and got her hair done before labour lol .. many places to a "mum to be" package with bikini wax tan massage/facial etc... I've even known girls to get their toe nails done!

I will sort bikini area and maybe tan but makeup can wait till after lol

Labor isn't all sweaty and messy for everyone... get a grip ladies lol. When you look good you feel good! I had my hair and makeup done (light blush and concealer and mascara with a bit of eyeshadow) and I didn't break a sweat. All 1.5 hours of my labor lol! Time you're contractions and you should be fine; especially if your water hasn't broken yet. I actually thought I was going to go into labor last night (my contractions started circulating through my back to the front of my abdomen,) so I showered late and blow dried my hair! Still no baby :p but ain't nothing wrong with looking good and being prepared!
