getting pierced when prego

hi ladies,

so I know my next tattoo will have to wait a while ... but what about body piercings?

I'm 11 weeks now and wud love to get an industrial ear piercing done (industrial is the long metal piece that goes through ur ear twice).

... is that safe? any experience anyone?

oh damn, really?  ... perhaps I can check if my artist wud do it with consent from my doc then?
I was planning to get pierced next Wednesday because I'm anyway visiting the studio with a friend ... but my first appointment is not until just 2 days after that.

I already removed my nipple piercing, and I'm sure it wont b long before my navel piercing has to go ...

Piercings have to wait too, and my artist wanted me to show her i was cleared after my 6 week appointment before she would pierce me.

Tattoos aren't safe because risk of infection afterwards, not necessarily anything to do with the needle. I would think it's the same general idea for piercings, though to be honest I've never really thought about it. I'd say avoid anything that intentionally breaks skin lol.

Not safe....most piercers won't do it because of the risk of shock. Things have a small chance of effecting you completely different during pregnancy than they ever would normally. It sounds dumb...and it's a small chance, but I'd skip it just to be safe. Baby will be here soon! Go then :)
