My mom had a vaginal birth with my sister and had her tubes done the next day. They made little incisions that you can hardly see anymore, but she said recovery was awful. She felt fine after the birth but after the surgery could hardly walk for a few days, so her hospital stay was longer. Otherwise she recovered well. She eventually had a hysterectomy years later for other reasons but the tubal worked from day one.

I was told that if you if have a csection you can get your tubes tied right then and there but if you have a vaginal birth you have to wait til after your 6weeks is this true?

My mom had it done after she had my sisters via c section. I don't remember how her recovery went cus I was young. But I'm pretty sure she managed.

My friend had this done after her c-section and said it was no big deal.  :)

I'm 39weeks and I'm getting my tubes tied as well, my doctor told me as soon as i get to lb&d to let them know so they can do it that night or early am. So I would check with your doctor. But I heard its easy and fast especially after having a baby verse if you wait 6weeks! Good luck :-)
