glucose test results

I got my results back from the one hour glucose test. It was 170. I have to go for a 3 hour test. My. doctors office said that just because i failed the first doesn't mean ill fail the next. Is 170 really bad? If i do fail to what happens next? Im a ftm... So nervous. Im also 18 weeks 3 days

Im curious to hear how this works. I wonder if everyone has to do the test? Im 22 weeks and haven't been told to do one yet.I may opt out simply because I have difficulty swallowing drinks, pills,or food that my body doesn't like. I know already I will throw up.i could barely drink the solution for a colonoscopy.

170 is high they usually want it below 135.  Did you eat before the 1 hr.  I know they say you can but a lot of times it gives a false positive. You'll go in for a 3 hour test, they'll treat your blood sugar have you drink that drink abs test every hour after.

I didn't eat or drink anything about 6 hours before. I did itin the morning and they have me about a pint of a flat soda tasting thing. Ill be going for the 3. hr test next week. What happens if that one is positive? What does that mean for baby? Am i going to have to inject insulin? Im terrified of needles!

If it's high again they'll send you to speak with a nutritionist or registered dietician. Many women can control it through diet alone so you may not have to do insulin.  Sometimes women with gestational diabetes have bigger babies but not always otherwise effects you more then baby.

The test is given at 24-26 weeks. I failed the first as well and passed the 2nd with flying colors. Make sure to fast before you take it. The second test i fasted for 14 hours prior to it. Its given to measure the sugar in your blood and how fast it is absorbed.

Mine came back high also. I've recently completed my 3 hr gtt...all came back normal except the 2hr. My doctor said that i do not have gestational diabetes, but that i do have glucose intolerance which can turn into diabetes if i don't watch my diey. They did schedule me to talk with a dietician.

I had gestational diabetes my first baby it can be controlled by diet mine was. You will not go past your due date. It may cause you baby to bigger which is why they don't let you go past tour due date. My baby was fine neither one of us have diabetes. Just watch your sugar intake and eat more protein

I went through 1 hour and it came bak abnormal I think it was 150 I went back for 3 hour and that came bak hight too soo I am now watching what I eat and iys controlled without medicine or anything else..I feel mine always comes hight in these sugar test but when I check ay home its always normal soo.dont panic same thing happend with my 1st pregnancy it came abnormal in the test and test of the pregnancy it was fine soo mama don't stress too much
