Two uteruses??

Just a question for mommies with 2 uteruses. How early did you go into labor? I've been having painful contractions since week 18 and I am now 22. This week the doctor told us they will be happy if I can make it to 32 weeks. My husband and I are still holding out hope I can make it closer to full term.

My mom has two uterus, she carried my brother full term on one side. Then when she got pregnant with me I was conceived on the opposite side. She had a tough pregnancy with me and when I wanted to come at just 28 weeks, they put her on bed rest. My mom went into labor at 33 weeks and I was just fine. I had to stay in the hospital till I gained a little bit of weight but other than that, no issues. And the reason she went into labor so early was because she had placenta previa. Let me know if you want me to ask her anything for you. I can be the messenger. Try not to worry or stress out

Thank you! I''ll definitely check to see if they have a forum for it! It's nice to hear stories of people who delivered healthy babies! We know chances are we won't make it to 40 weeks, but we want to keep our little guy in there as long as possible.

I have a friend who has two. She lost the first, but this one she has been able to keep til 34 Weeks and still going strong! She had a scare at 32 weeks and they were able to stop the contractions so baby is still cooking. Hope it goes as well for you too!

What is the medical term for it?  They might have a forum on here specifically for people who have the same thing.  It's worth checking.  Good luck either way.

The never said to use protection but I have heard that people have gotten pregnant in the other one after they were already pregnant so we were very careful.

Do you have to use condoms during your pregnancy to make sure you don't get pregnant in the other one?

My uterus is split down the middle into 2 seperate uteruses and they believe 2 cervixes. The split can go as far as a septum in your vagina but I don't have that. You can apparently get pregnant in both, I am pregnant in my right and they check my left every ultrasound to make sure it's still empty.
