glucose tolerance test

Just taking this test this morning. I felt like I was drinking oil. It was soo thick.lol. Hope my results come back ok. Just have to sit another 30 mins then get more bloods done.

My doctors office does it for everyone as well between 24 and 28 weeks.  I had the orange drink and it was not to bad at all. . Tasted like flat orange pop.

Most doctors routinely do it now although some still dont. My office does it for everyone between 24 and 28 weeks.

Lucky you. I had to fast the nite before and was not even allowed water. I was so glad to get allowed drink allowed nd food allowed df ter the 3 hour test

I also had the Orange drink wasn't as bad lol but sweet o my had my baby bouncing n kicking for 2hrs str8 lol my results came back normal thank god but was so glad to eat something i know i shouldn't have been eating couldn't wait til testing was over all i had that morning was 3 boiled eggs and water

It's only if u have had a big baby before, over weight or is diabetes is in the family.

At how many weeks do you take this test? I'm 34 wks today and I haven't taken this test nor has my Dr said anything about it!

Just waiting on the results now. They told me they would fone me after 5pm.  So fingers cross everything is ok.

I recently had mine and it was a orange soda style one.  Not thick at all. Maybe different areas domit differently? Im waiting for my results.. hope I passed cuz i dont want to do the 3 hour one!

Also, i was advised the best thing to do after drinking the fluid, is to walk around. Hope all goes well for you & congratulations!

Yuk! That stuff is disgusting I hated having to drink that. The first time I had to drink it I cried, lbs! I didn't pass so I had to do it a second time, which was even worse because you have to drink more. I had gestational diabetes during my first pregnancy, but not the second. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I told my doctor I'm not excited about drinking that "deathly" sugar lol! So I was advised I could bring in a 16oz bottle of 100% real juice and if I could drink that in 5mins,that would suffice instead of drinking that sugar poison. Lol! Just glad they came up with a new method.
