hand pain

Anyone else having pain in their hand? I can't even brush my hair. I got it checked and the doc said they couldn't see anything wrong and
gave me prednisone but I don't want to take it because it's category c and I don't want to risk it. It's a shooting pain that starts at my wrist and goes up to my fingers and sometimes up my forearm. The doc said it could be from fluid retention from pregnancy but he couldn't tell for sure. Anyone else having this problem?

I had to take prednisone the entire first trimester of this pg so my body wouldn't reject the pregnancy. Hope you get some relief.

It's common to get carpal tunnel in pregnancy. If your doctor orders an EMG they will be able to diagnose it. There is pressure on the carpal tunnel nerve which causes the pain. Taking the prednisone will help reduce the swelling. If its not better after delivery surgery may be suggested. I've had it done on my left wrist and haven't had any pain or problems since. Hope it gets to feeling better soon for you!
