labor story

I was scheduled for induction on 1/27/15. Arrived at 7 am and pitocin started and the doctor ruptered my water at 8 am. Contractions didnt start for about an hour. At 11am contractions were 5 minutes apart but tolerable. At 11:40am they became untolerable. Requested an epidural, was dilated at a 4.5. The doctor was with another patient so i needed to wait until they were done for my epidural. She arrived at 12:20 pm to give me my epidural. Finally the medication drip was hung at 12:42 pm. By that time i was dilated at a 10 and needed to push. ( it was a crazy hour dilated from a 4.5 to 10 in less than an hour...hurt like a *****) I pushed through 4 contractions and my baby boy Riley Todd was born at 12:56pm. He is 8lbs 2 oz and 20". He is perfect!!!
I would recommend to mommies to request your epidural early because you don't know how fast you will dilate and how long you will have to wait for the doctor to come.
