have you had a membrane sweep/strip before?

Early in the morning I will be getting my membranes stripped, and I'm curious to hear stories about how it went for those who have had it done before. I'm hoping to hear how it went, especially if you were already dilated/contracting before the sweep, I've mostly only heard stories of no success but they didn't have any dilation, and hadn't even felt a contraction. So I'm hopeful!

1) How many weeks were you?
2) How dilated/effaced were you?
3) Was baby dropped (-1 station to anything past 0 zero station)?
4) Were you having contractions before your sweep (within the few days/hours before the sweep)?

I'll be 38 weeks and 5 days tomorrow for my sweep. I'm currently almost 4 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and baby is fully engaged (0 station). I've been having regular contractions since last Sunday, but they hadn't been strong enough to dilate me further (at least that was still the case last Wednesday). I'm hoping that I've had more cervical change since Wednesday since I've still been contracting, and I've had quite a lot of painful cramping.

I had one at 39 weeks. I was 2 cm dialated. I was not contracting at all....before or after. I ended up getting inducted at 41 weeks.

You know how often I had stalled labor. The first time it was done I was 60% effaced and dilated at 1. Did absolutely nothing...that was at 39 weeks. Had it done again a day after my due date. She was more forceful with it...I was at a 1 1/2 dilation, that was the only difference. That one hurt worse. My water broke  2 1/2 days later.

I had the sweep with my last one. Ive never had real contractions prior to labor, and im on #5. I had the sweep done at just over 39 weeks about 1-2 cm dilated and went into labor at 40 weeks on the nose. But all of my babies came within hours of their due dates, so im not positive if the sweep affected me or not.
