hcg 900 at 3 weeks?

I went to the doctor this Tuesday and they determined from my blood test of the last miscarriage,  that I can't be anymore along than 3 weeks, as my hcg was all the way back down on Nov. 11.
Which means a clear blue home pregnancy test picked it up at 2 weeks. Anyway,  Tuesday when they checked my hcg, it was 900. That seems awfully high??

Here is my previous post to give some background..posted Dec 3. .

I had a miscarriage at 5-6 weeks, I started bleeding on Oct 27th and bled until the 3rd- 4th.
I had my follow up visit on November 11th and my hcg levels were back down to normal. No D&C.

I was having crazy, vivid dreams all over again and I took a home pregnancy test on Friday, Nov 22nd. I always use the clear blue since they estimate weeks after ovulation.  The pregnancy test said not pregnant.  But I had a feeling.
I took a second test in Monday, November 25th.
It said Pregnant,  1-2 weeks (after ovulation)
The pamphlet says your dr would rate you 3 to 4 weeks with that rating.
I took another test late last night(Dec 2)  and it said Pregnant right away and then read 3-4 which means the dr would rate you 5 to 6 weeks pregnant.

I had my pre screening today and they said with the dates provided,  I can only be just now 3 weeks and 1 day.
Is it weird to have had a raise in the hcg enough that the home pregnancy test raised in a weeks time and theres no way I can be 5 weeks? Since on Nov 11 I had my blood drawn and levels checked.
Could it be a multiple pregnancy?  Why my levels would be reading 5 to 6 at home when I can only be 3 weeks??
I am SO tired, SO dehydrated,  and my breasts are SO tender.
My next appt isnt until Dec 16 and since this is my 3rd pregnancy (lost one 3 years ago and the other just recently), I am 26, so they're classifying it as a high risk.
Too much things to think and worry about!
Any ideas why theyd vary so much?  . .

If you Google Hcg chart you can get an idea of the range of Hcg levels for each week. That being said, even if yours aren't in the correct range all that matters is that it keeps rising. An early ultrasound will put your mind at ease. Hcg isn't very reliable.

Thanks for the replies. I went back in at 4 weeks and my HCG was 9,000!
I haven't had any cramping or anything out of the normal.  A little bit of some sharp back pain but when I talked to the nurse she said as long as it was in the back and goes away, it should be fine. And it has went away so far.

I go for an ultrasound on Monday. I am so anxious!

Sorry posted too soon. .
-or if could be a normal singleton pregnancy =)

Just follow up with your doctor.  They will figure it out with time.  Ultrasound should be able to give you some answers soon.  Good luck.  I know pregnancy is stressful and scary,  but do your best to stay positive.

When you say your hcg levels were back to "normal" on nov. 11th,  do you know for sure they were at 0? Did the dr literally day your hcg is negative?  If so,  your hcg could've reached 0 days before the 11th,  which could possibly put you past 3 weeks, perhaps 4 wks?

There are many possibilities here:
- like you said,  multiple pregnancy,  and hopefully that's what it is.
-ectopic pregnancy,  as a Sonographer,  we're taught that when we see unusually high hcg levels,  the first thing we should look for is an ectopic pregnancy.  I'M NOT SAYING THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU OR YOUR PREGNANCY, but if you start to feel Bad cramps,  then go to the ER asap.
- it could also be a  heterotopic pregnancy, which is very rare.

Some people have naturally higher hcg it even lower. It's not what the number is thats important. It's what the number is doing. So as long as it doubles in the next 48-72 hours then it's okay.

Sorry about your loss and wishing you the very best.
