hcg and pregnancy complications please help

so i got a BFP oct 25th confirmed the 27th and was told that I'm 4.5 wks along (due date 07/02/17). Well I had some cramping over the weekend and went to the er this past monday and my levels were at 400 (3wks) I'm being hopeful and stayed calm. Got my levels retested today and they're only at 578. I asked them to be realistic and they sent me to get an ultrasound (vaginal) and there's no fluid, empty sac and nothing in the flopian tubes (not eptopic). She said that the baby isnt developing normally and that if the levels continue to rise but nothing in the sac they will have to give me that shot. I was reading some blogs and people had normal pregnancies, but I'm scared to give myself false hope after today. Can anyone please explain what in the world is going on?

And cramping is normal in early pregnancy as long as it's not extreme or accompanied by lots of bleeding!

You could still be too early to see anything on ultrasound, normally HCG levels are supposed to double every 24-48 hours. I hope this isn't your case but sadly this September I experienced a miscarriage due to a blighted ovum. There was a gestational sac but no fetal pole. My levels got up to 48,000 but started dropping. I found out at my 11 week ultrasound (no baby ever developed). Continue seeing your doctors and go by your HCG levels at this point and see what they do. Best of luck!!

You're not going to see anything on the ultrasound at 4.5 weeks...
