high risk Moms please answer

So obviously I'm high risk pregnancy. I spoke to my doctor who will be delivering me and most likely I'll be delivering at 36wks (9wks from now). Most likely I'll be delivering via c section. When does the doctor usually set the date? Or is he even the one who actually sets it? I'm a ftm so kinda confused

I was high risk with my first due to a few factors, preterm labor around 26 weeks, baby measuring way big, and questionable amount of fluid. My doctor based my date off of the lungs like someone before mentioned. They tried an amnio just to be sure, but there wasn't room for the needle safely, so they ended up waiting until 36.5-37 weeks and then scheduled me. Everything turned out well, I just had to have faith in my Doctor, and in God that he would make sure everything worked out. Best of luck :)

Hey!
I'm high risk too, this is my second pregnancy and with my first I went into early labor at 29 weeks!! On bed rest for a month, apparently my cervix was paper thin. My water also broke a week before I had my son, he was born @ 34 weeks 2 days. I also hemorrhaged a couple times after I had him,I needed 4 pints of blood given to me. Almost died, very scary. So for this time around I'm doing things safe, taking it easy, I'm going to be having a csection and they are usually planned by the doctor.

My sons ventricles(in his head) are dialated which mean bigger then usual :/ so doctor said c section would be best so there's no added pressure onto his head

Hi there, I'm high risk too and my doctor said that in my case ( i have a complete placenta previa) I might have to get a csection at 35 1/2 weeks. I'll have an amnio then to check for baby's lung maturity. If all's well then I'll have the baby if not we'll wait until about 36 1/2- 37 weeks.  And that's if I have no bleeding until then if i do i just likely will deliver before. My son was born at 30 weeks and his now bigger than most 9 year old in his class. You and baby will be fine, just put it in God's hands. If you don't my asking, what makes you high risk?

I was high risk my first pregnancy but in this second I'm no longer high risk. With my first I went into preterm labor at 36 weeks and they stopped it but at 38 weeks due to my bp constantly rising, the dr.s called me and decided to induce me which turned into a c section after 19 hrs of labor. This pregnancy since no bp issues seem to be occuring , based on normal protocol the dr has scheduled my csection at 39 weeks (early on) . Needless to say, your doctor will be the one to determine your scheduled c section date which is a standard 39 weeks but in the US if complications arise the earliest the doctor's want to take the baby is 38 weeks but if issues arise that are unforseen the doctor in conjunction with a high risk team will definitely be the one to assign a revised due date that's healthier for you and baby to avoid complications.

Best wishes in advance and congrats on baby.

I think the doctor picks a day that they're going to be at the hospital. They have certain days that they're on call at the hospital.
