help! painful burning cough

So I was asleep and suddenly woke up with a burning feeling in my throat and coughing that isn't going away and making it worse. Any suggestions how to get rid of this? Tried tums, ice water, propping myself up more and nothing.

It's probably heartburn. I have been having heartburn since the beginning of my second trimester and a sexy wheezy cough at times to go with it. Try drinking milk to lessen the burn, I find that helps :)
