effexor and pregnant

Hi I am eighteen weeks and am on effexor 37.2 mg. I have dropped my dose to lowest dose but am scared to stop.. has anyone else been us this while pregnant?

Please make sure you get the advise of your OB on discontinuing the medication. Maybe you can be put on a safer med? Good luck!

I took it during my 1st pregnancy 10 years ago.. I stopped taking it shortly after his birth. I was getting depressed during my 3rd pregnancy 3 years ago and asked for it again (same OB) and he didn't give it to me. I guess there's been studies that came out in 2010 where anti depressants are not good and could cause complications and health care risks to baby.. that being said my 1st is completely normal but there is a risk.  id try and wean yourself off.. maybe find other ways of managing your need for these types of medications.
