It takes time and patience to master a good latch. I would suggest sticking it out abit longer. It is really good for baby and you. With pumping your not gonna get anywhere near the amount you give as formula. Babies don't need a ton of breast milk early on. Surprisingly little actually. For the latch make sure you bring baby to breast not breast to baby. Also make sure they have as much of the aereola in their mouth. Not just nipple. Make sure the lips both top and bottom are curled outward and not tucked in. These tips should help if you stick it out. Also get in touch with the La Leche League it is a lactation support system of mothers who have been there and done that. Good Luck!

If you decide to stop breast feeding then I wouldn't pump at all. Try and avoid really hot bathes as this can sometimes stimulate hormones to produce more milk. I agree with cabbage leaves this will help. It is sore when drying out for a few days x

Oh and, the more you pump, the more milk you will produce, so stopping pumping completely would help your body to stop producing milk more sooner

I breastfed my son only for few days too, it was very sore and i couldn't latch him on properly, so I went for formula.. I did try to pump swell, I felt pressured that people would say I'm a bad mother for not breastfeeding.. but you know what? Do what's more comfy for you! Happy mother = happy baby.
I stopped completely, my breasts were sore every time they leaked, I read that cabbage helps, and it did. Buy a cabbage, put two leaves in the fridge, then when the leaves are cold put them in your bra.. it kind of helps the pain.. I did not get infection or anything from stopping pumping. Change the leaves a few times a day..its not even noticeable in the bra!))

Thank you:) @daddys_love I also have hard lumps on my breast this is normal rite? I was told its the milk.they just hurt so much.. If I don't pump at all will that make it dry up faster or is it the same if I pump once in a while?

Sometimes breastfeeding or pumping will release the pain in your breast. But if you decide to just stop and not pump at all, that's ok. don't worry, you won't have no fever or nothing. It's just an old wives tale.
