I've been on the pills since 17 weeks I am currently 27 weeks and 5 days. Had an ultrasound yesterday and my cervix still thinning dramatically so got my first dose of steroid injection for her lungs yesterday and went back for my second today. I am now on complete bedrest at home. Hopefully my baby girl stays in!! Are you taking them for a thinning cervix?

I'm on the progesterone inj. This is baby #4, but the first time to be on progesterone. I'm currently 26 weeks, and haven't had my cervix checked since 20wks. Everything seems to be going ok though. I was have it checked again at 28 wks.

Wow I am surprised they don't check you more often! I get checked every two weeks and  in two weeks my cervix went from 20 mm to 7 mm.

I thought they were going to check me every 2-3 weeks also, but at my 20 week check he said I was good to go until 28 weeks unless I started having contractions. I asked him again at my 24 week appt and he said no he'd check it at 28 weeks. He did put me on light office duty at one job and I had to take medical leave from the other job. I'm just hanging in here hoping I carry my peanut atleast to 35+ wks

I hope so too good luck!! It is kind of good because I find it stresses me out more going so often just to keep hearing it keeps thinning. She's still in there so I'm just going to focus on that!

Step8i  when I went to get my progesterone pills the pharmacist was surprised because I was already 17 weeks she told me it was for prevention of miscarriage they just use it also to help keep the cervix from thinning I guess. I heard lots of great things of it helping lots of women so I'm routing for you and your little one!

Do they only give it if you're showing signs of preterm? Since I'm high risk, a medicaid worker told me to ask ab the shot. But then when I asked my doctor ab it, she had me checked and since nothing was happening yet she wouldn't do it. But I'm still scared bc nothing was happening when I was pregnant with my son and then all of a sudden my water broke, mucus plug came out and my placenta ruptured and i gave birth all within less than 24 hours.
