hours to membrane sweep work

In about how many hours does the membrane sweep work? I just want to know in how many hours should it work.

With in 7 hours water broke baby was here 10 after the water broke.

I had one done on Wednesday and I had didn't start contracting till like 7 pm Thursday night I had him Friday at 1:15 am

I had mine swept at 39 weeks and nothing. Had it swept again at 40 at 4 pm and my water broke the next morning at 9 am.

Sometimes it doesn't work if your body isn't ready for labor. You should ask for another at your next appt. My sister had 2 with each of her kids and the second one always worked but the first didn't cuz her body and baby weren't ready yet.

I just walked for like two hours. N I'm back home but I still don't feel pain. I think I'm just gonna wait in patience til the day n see what happens. I think tomorrow morning I'm gonna try walking the stairs by twos. Lol

My doctor did a sweep with my last child. She was 5 days over due and i was suppose to go in the next morning if baby didnt come. She did the sweep at like 10:00 am and i was contracting all day. Come 12:30 that night that when my labor actually went fullforce. I was cleaning and cooking all day and doing laundry so i think thats why it helped me. Also i was walking up and down a hill for a little while too.

When I Got my sweep done I walked on the treadmill on High elevation for like 2 hrs on super slow!

Go for a really long walk like longer then u have ever walked the whole time u have been prego!

Well it's Now past the 24 hours. N still nothing. This *****. It ***** cause I was expecting to have her already.

I had my first with in 24 hrs just be super still when it's being done ur doc had to get up in there and make sure it's done rite it will be a little uncomfortable but it should work! Good luck

I had a sweep at 3pm and labor started 2 hours later. By 7pm I was eating supper & timing contractions. By 10pm I went to the hospital and was stuck at a 3 for 2 hours. My water broke & I went from a 3 to a 10 in less than a min! Baby was born at 1234am on 9-10-11. I'm prego again and will be getting a sweep with this one as well!

And hey, you never know the sweep could work this time. Maybe it's just taking a little longer! Try going to the mall or something and walk walk walk!

I'd try to ask her at your next appointment if she will. I'm a ftm so I'm not sure what being induced is like. I'm sure everything will be fine though. Best wishes and praying for you! :))

Yes on May 1st, but she didn't mention doing another one if I didn't go into labor. So Idk =/

39 weeks today. But if baby don't come out on the exact may 2, she's going to induce me. For the baby's well being she said. Idk what to do, I'm scared to get induced.

So 48 hours is the limit. I had lots of tightening yesterday n some back pain n today I woke up feeling like new. I feel nothing :( maybe it won't work on me. N I want to go walk today but I feel so tired. I can't even walk in the house. I'm so tired.

I heard it usually is supposed to work within 24-48 hours. But I've also heard of it not working for some women.. idk
