Vanishing Twin or Subchorionic Hematoma??!!

Hi ladies! I am 8 weeks with my 3rd child. My oldest two are 8 and 12 years old. On Sunday, 1/10, I began bleeding a lot. By the time we got to the hospital I passed a couple of thick dark clots. I thought for sure I had miscarried my precious gift. The ER doc ordered a vaginal ultrasound and was able to see and hear a heartbeat. The ER doc diagnosed Subchorionic Hematoma and sent me home on bed rest. I saw my doc the next day. On the ultrasound he was able to clearly see two sacs...one contained a baby. The other did not. He believes that I conceived fraternal twins and one did not make it...he called it Vanishing Twin Syndrome. He says my remaining baby could be completely fine.... but we're not out of the woods yet. Naturally, I'm very conerned. Has anyone experienced a similar issue before??

Thank you!

Thanks sgulia1987! I appreciate you sharing. I am still bleeding today... not as badly though. Definitely trying to take it easy and relax. It's tough not to worry though.
