how far along?

I just found out on Wednesday that I'm pregnant.  I am wondering how to find out how far along I am? I.have seen things that say to calculate from the first day of your last period...Is that accurate????

Usually gestational age minus two weeks equals fetal age. If you look up a conception calculator online or download the app "mom2be", you can plug your dates in and get all kinds of info (: congrats!! You'll have one special anniversary present!

The reason I ask is because my lmp start date was feb 27...and ended on march 5th...when I called the doctor they said I probably conceived around march 14th...so that makes it about 2 weeks off...I was just a little confused...either way my due date is in December...my birthday is December 22 and I was married on December 7th.

It's pretty accurate yes but an ultrasound can give a better date. They will ask when your last period was when you call to make your first appt which is normally around 8-10 weeks.

Lmp if you know it, or ultrasound.   My lmp puts me 3 days behind my two ultrasounds. They're usually about the same though.

I was told at my first ultrasound how far I was. I had no clue because I got my period twice a month and I was on the pill. I was about a week behind what I thought I might be.

I found out last Friday that I was pregnant. Went the same day and took the blood test. They calculated me to be 9+4 weeks from my lmp. The nurse said I was around 5 weeks with my hcg levels which were 57,972 (I believe that is high for 5 weeks). So I'm not really sure how far along I am but I will know on Thursday because I go for an ultrasound
