A friend of mine is a pediatrician. We were talking about it since I can go any time and been this way for a few weeks now. I just turned 34 weeks today.  She said while they usually say that they have to stay until they would be full term, often it comes down to other issues. At least around here once babies hit 5 lbs with no other issues they can go home.  I threatened baby with a cork n duct tape tokeep her in for awhile longer. Hope it helps.

Usually with premature babies they have to stay until they would have been full term so with you now it could be sometime between 4 weeks to 7 weeks depending on how good baby does with breathing and eating and wetting/soiling diapers it could be sooner than 4 weeks or it could be longer than 7 weeks it just depends on how good the baby's immune system is, how well their lungs are developing and how they are eating i had a friend give birth at 24 weeks and her son had to stay until he would have been 34 weeks bcuz of how well he was doing so its circumstantial to each infant but its still not good regardless their lungs and brain and immune system develop so much during these last few weeks in our bodies

A long time. Probably until your due date. Lungs are not developed to survive and work properly without assistance, then the risk of complications from that. Plus not all organs have started to fully function including brain. Are you at risk for going in early?
