I am 33 wks and ready to take off from work! My goal was more like 38-39wks but I'm just so exhausted and having very swollen, sore feet and ankles. I feel guilty though, dropping my income at this point....when did or do you plan to stop working, ladies???

I'm taking off at 37 weeks. I get two months off though. It isn't paid, but my husband can support us. I wouldn't push yourself. Everyone is different.

I work as a teachers aide (in school to b a teacher). i read my facts the district really only allows us 15 days before and 30 days after the baby is born. Unless doctors notice. I do believe my school is very nice tho and would work sonething out if i feel that is not enough. Personally i am working until the week of... I heard working/staying active induces labor faster. Being medically induced hurts wayy more than natural induction apparently. Im unpaid also :/ i wish u.s. did maternity allowance like u.k. i will try unemployment i guess. But i have two jobs and just plan on saving. And.. thank god for a fiance :o!

Definitely plan on working until I pop so I can take as much time as possible after baby is here. Going to supplement the 6 weeks unpaid FMLA with vacation time but that's mainly just to cover my part of the benefits every two weeks. Can't afford to go out early.

I plan on working til I go into labor,  as crazy as that may sound to some people. I only get 6 weeks, unpaid, and I want to spend them with my baby boy! I work on my feet all day, although I'm allowed to sit on a stool when I need to, it doesn't really help. I'm going to try and get unemployment when I'm on leave to help cover my bills

I stopped working at 33 weeks. My body couldn't handle the 3 hour return drive and the 40 Kindy children I was looking after and the 3 other staff to manage! I was working at a daycare Centre and on my feet the whole day. Do what you feel is best and what you can cope with!

I'm 38 wks and plan on working right up til when I have her but fortunately my job is understanding and lets me make my own hours so if Im tired in the morning I come in a little later and if I dont feel well while at work I just go home.

I am 33 weeks as well and my last day of work is scheduled to be 4 days before my due date. When I gave notice, I put in it that it was liable to change depending on my and my baby's health. My husband made me promise that I have to listen to him and if he tells me I'm getting too stressed or Wore out that I will stop working sooner. I'd say listen to your body and don't push yourself! Good luck!!

If you are planning on working after you have the baby, it is good to work for as long as possible before the baby comes.  here's why---  that time you take off counts toward your short term disability and the family medical leave.  There are maximum days associated with both of those and you'd be using them to have the baby early.  I worked until close to my due date with my first taking a few vacation days.  My baby was due right at Christmas so it was easy to stretch my time off out because of holidays mixed in.  But in general, you should check with your HR regarding how taking off prior to giving birth impacts your benefits.  good luck

I am 34 weeks now and I am going until 36 weeks.  Thought I could be tough and push through till the end but the back pain is no joke and there is still a lot left to do before my son gets here.  Take the time if you can, don't over do it.

I am 29 weeks now and plan on starting my maternity leave at 39 weeks but because I have holidays left I will be about 37 weeks when I finish work. I am getting tired already tho and having back/ hip pain so hoping I can last that long at work. Work as long as I your body will let you. Only you will know when the best time is for you to leave work
