importance of sex

My MIL keeps telling me that set is good for the pregnancy. ... is this true? If yes why? If no why? I read a question on here where she was past due and inquiring what can help her to go into labor. .and a few ladies recommended sex...I am curious I haven't really been craving any sex and my husband hasn't been all over me... but I do want to do everything to help make it easier for my delivery. ...lol

Sex is always good for you, lol! But yes, the prostaglandins in semen help induce labor.  Also, pitocin, what they use to induce labor, is a synthetic version of oxytocin.  Oxytocin is released in large amounts during orgasm, birth, and lactation.  Which is why you can experience uterine contractions after orgasm.

Well I find that sex keeps hubby happy but aside from that its not necessary lol. In the end it will help because semen softens the cervix which makes dilating easier and sex can start labor if your body is ready. Im only 33 weeks and sex already gives me contractions just not consistantly
