in pain

I'm having some awful tummy pains with some diarrhea. It's not contractions, but a mild to severe cramping pain. I'm 17 weeks. Went to the er on Friday for it and the er doctor said the baby was fine (after an ultrasound) and that it had to do with a pre existing condition. I told my ob and she said it was just round ligament pain. What is really going on?

I agree with Hbabe2. Diarrhea can cause aweful cramping. Later on in pregnancy I tend to feel it higher in my stomach. I usually get it if I drink too much milk although usually I have no problems with dairy.

I'm going to guess the cramping is due to your bowel contracting, which is due to your diarrhea. Diarrhea isn't extremely uncommon in pregnancy. It is safe to take regular Imodium during pregnancy. See if that helps.  Best of luck my dear.
