My lame insurance only covers 1 ultrasound. .. im alil upset because how will any 1 know if ny amniotic fluid level is good or check my baby weight..... sooii freaking frustrated....I didn't know GA ins was soo asinine. ..

Missouri Medicaid only covers 2. I have had 6 so far Im 31weeks. My doc labeled me as high risk and so did my insurance so i get as many as the doc wants to order.

I tried that lol @krissie180... the nurse said I can only have 1 if DR requests a sonogram :(

I know this sounds wrong but if ur worried u can always fake cramps and go to ur local hospital and ask them to check and make sure everythigs ok.

Thanks guy's. ... Im just confused with these Doctors. I guess I have to look for a decent priced U/S clinic so I can check on my lil bean...

I understand what your going thru. My insurance covers as many u/s as I want but my OB won't order more than two, one to confirm and one for anatomy/ sex of baby. But u can always check your local medical schools as they offer really cheap out of pocket u/s. Good luck! Hope this helps!!

My office told me that I would have only one at 20 wks but I asked for one at 12 weeks and they made it happen. Since then I've had two more because they had to redo the 20 week one. Baby wasn't cooperating. They normally do another towards the end from what I hear but I'm not there yet. Post again if you get another because I would like to know.

I only had one at 20wks with my first baby and only 1 at about 24wks with my third. Getting one at 8wks just to confirm my pregnancy with this baby seemed a bit unnecessary to me. They can check the heart beat with a Doppler and check growth with belly measurments. Unless you've had trouble in the past or present with leaking amniotic fluid there is no reason for a ultrasound just to check its level.

Im 35 weeks... so its too late to find another doctor :(. Ill  ask un ny next appt... if I have a option   . Thanks ki2times

Your Dr can order more if he/she feels the need to. My cousin asked our Dr to order one to confirm the sex and she did it at 7 months so she got the 3D one. But make sure it's only one, it should be two. You need the 8 week one to confirm, and the 20 week one to check the growth of internal organs. You may need another Dr.
