Also, check with your hospital. I wasn't aware my first time around, but I recently found out that the hospital where I'll be delivering has a room that apparently has coffee and juice and soda and water for the parents. Idk ab food being in it but I do know there was at least a microwave. I thought it was like a break room for the nurses, but I actually read my paperwork this time and learned all kinds of things ab the hospital lol

I just want to say something for during labor, even if you don't want a c-section at least prepare for it be birth plan z. It will help in case they call for an emergency one.

I would say bring snacks, your going to get hungry in-between meals and vending machines are expensive.

Oh yes,  dermaplast, that was amazing!  Such a life saver.  You can make your own "pad sicles" with pads,  aloe Vera and witch hazel.  Put it in freezer and it works wonders! Obviously if u have a vaginal birth, lol

I'm commenting now so I can find this post tomorrow. There's some numbing spray I used after the birth of my first child. It only helped for maybe 20 mins at a time, but it felt great.

So yeah, hopefully I'll be able to find it at the store and I'll be back to tell you what it was.

Also, witch hazel. For me personally, I didn't see where it helped all that much but every other woman I know that used it raves ab how great it was.

I just had my second child pn July 7, I feel almost completely normal now (vaginal birth) all that is true ^^^^ but there are things to do that'll make recovery easier.  Ice packs galore!!!! Use squirt bottle when u urinate for sure. Squirting water on your private while urinating will make it not sting so bad. Stool softeners are a huge help hopefully your doctor gives them to you. Good luck , it's not so bad xoxo

Well for me,  afterwards was the worst!  When you go #2 is going to hurt like nothing you've ever experienced! (Worse than actually pushing my baby out,  for me at least)  Unless you take stool softner! I was very sore down there,  also tore a lil. But after a couple days maybe week everything goes away.  Except for bleeding.  But none of that won't matter once you have your bundle of joy! Good luck sweetie and you'll do GREAT!

Sorry. I was just being honest. Everyone is though so some may not be as bad. I really didn't feel like my recovery was terrible with either of mine. Spray bottles do work wonders too as another commenter said. And it is wonderful not having all the pregnancy symptoms. I retain water like crazy and it is one amazing feeling when it goes away, which is the first few days for me. Plus no more sore hips, and you can sleep on your belly/back again, which I am personally so ready for! And the best part of all YOU CAN SEE YOUR DOWNSTAIRS AGAIN!!!!!!!

Yes but good news is all the crappy side effects you may be feeling now go away as soon as you push the kid out. No more heartburn nausea exhaustion or being worried about birth. 3 Motrin did me just fine and i tore in 2 places. The plastic spray bottle they give you in the hospital really helps clean you off. Dont make water too hot or too cold though. Once you push out that beautiful baby the pain you once felt is barely a memory.

After labor you'll continue getting contractions to shrink your uterus back to normal. I don't think they are like continuous contractions though. I think they just come every once in a while, similar to braxton hicks, if I remember right. The contractions with my first were hardly noticeable, but with my second, they were harder. If you plan on breastfeeding, it will shrink back faster. Typically you bleed for about 6 weeks after, but I actually only bled for a couple weeks with each of mine. The first 2-3 days are obviously the worst and you'll pass some clots. Then it may turn to a normal period-type bleeding and eventually to just spotting. Oh ya and your downstairs, if you have a vaginal birth, will get extremely swollen and sore and it may hurt to pee if you tear. The best thing my midwife taught me was to cut open the back of a diaper and stuff ice in the diaper. It works wonders for for an icepack! The best part of after labor, though, is that you get to hold your sweet angel that you have been waiting so long to meet! It makes every pain, discomfort, and loss of sleep so worth it!

It depends if you'll have a C section or natural.
