My son couldn't latch on. We established that it was because I had enough milk for triplets and my breast were too big for his tiny mouth. I pumped from the end of February to the beginning of May and had enough milk in the freezer for 1 year. Needless to say I had to bottle feed my monkey.. make sure you have a good strong pump. Nothing from babies r us or whatever.  You can sometimes rent them from the hospital. Good luck

For what it's worth, my daughter weaned herself at 4m despite hours of help from lactation consultants, toys, dark rooms, bright rooms, we tried everything. I pumped for the next 8 months of her life so she had a full year of breast milk. It droveme nuts, my supply suffered, but I did it so yes, it is doable.

If your supply starts to drop you can try taking things like fenugreek,  making mothers tea or lactation cookies.

I pumped a lot and sometimes breastfed my first.. pumping is really hard and time consuming, but if you don't want to breastfeed it is the next best thing. Good luck! :)

I feel the same way but after researching it it won't last. You need the baby to do it or your milk supply will dry up. Confirm it with your doctor they will tell you the same.

I always found the pump made my nipples feel really sore if i did it all the time so I had to give up after my last baby decided he didn't like the breast anymore :)

I think it will do alright.
I might try it with my boy, I wasn't able to breastfeed his sister because it felt like she was biting. Hopefully all goes well for you.

Lots of women lose supply from pumping only its just not as efficient as baby is. I thought id feel weird about it when I bf my son cuz obviously they'd ony ever been used for pleasure with my sexual partners but it wasn't like that at all if u have a mental block because of that id recommend trying it a couple times anywaz

Part of the benefits of breastfeeding us skin to skin contact and the bonding chemicals it releases in you. It makes me sad women feel weird about breastfeeding. It is why we have breasts. But if it makes you unbearably uncomfortable, pumping is good too.

Of course you can just pump and bottle feed. Plenty of women do it bc some babies have a difficult time latching on and the mom still wants to breast feed. Invest in a double pump and lots of storage bags.
