Throughout my pregnancy I kept being told that and people thought I was having a boy but obviously thats an old wives tale since Im having a girl! When the doctor told me my baby was really low I thought I was going into labor soon but weeks later Im still pregnant :) Every woman, and each pregnancy is different.

I have carried low my whole pregnancy. It has to do with where the baby implants. Some people say if you carry lower, it's a boy, but I think that's an old wives' tale. There should be an obvious difference when the baby drops down into the final position.

It doesn't mean you're going into labor. Carrying low basically means you look lower than other pregnant women around your DD. It could be the baby is just curled up farther down than others or that your bump is just low. Lightening or engaging is the final step when the baby fully drops into place right by your cervix. That's when labor would be close.

I believe it means the baby is turned and getting into position.
