contractions turned into cramps

I'm 38 weeks 4 days all morning I had pretty strong steady contractions that seemed to be getting closer. Tried sleeping them off for a bit , when i woke up I no longer had them. I had what feels like period like cramps and a bad back pain. Its just a constant pain. Now if I call my Drs office they're gonna tell me to go straight to l&d and I'm so sick and tired of going there! I've been there so much and all they do is monitor me and release me. Does anyone know what this is? Is anyone else going thru this?

I have had the constant cramps and back pain throughout my pregnancy. It does not come and go it can stay anywhere from 30 min to several hours. I am 39 weeks now, have asked my dr about it several times, it is one of those unexplainable things he kust says it is my uterus preparing itself.

Could be back labor? I had them with my second baby. Good luck and hope it all gets better for you
