just needing to vent
A few days ago i went to a local tech school to see about going back to get my degree (again) so i could get out of this stupid stressful awful minimum wage job i have (casino). My bff was all supportive. She picks my son up from schoo the days i work. She was going to watch him the evenings id be in class. I just got a text, not a call not in person but a TEXT, that they are moving out of state october 1. Now im not going to havw my bff my partner in crime my rock my babysitter. Im not going to be able to work without somebody to watch my son. His dad doesnt get home until after midnight. We are struggling as is. I have a huge loan i have to pay on for the next 12 months . My moms dead, my dad lives 2 hours away and is nearly 80 and with bad health, the closest inlaws are 8 hours away in another state. It was hard enough to get this crappy job. Our city has a 70% unemployment rate. I really wanted to get my phlebotomy degree. Everything seemed to be falling into place and now it feels like its falling apart. Im so dang emotional. I cant stop crying. I hate my job so bad. The girls i work with are evil and harass me daily. One girl reported me for accepting a tip and got me suspended for 2 days which is going to make my check extra extra short. Not to mention i havent been getting much hours even though im full time. Its just too much right now.
There are only 2 shifts at the restaurant. The day shift i work 9-4 and swing which is 4-10. I cant get a gaming license (h&r block messed up taxes and refuse to fix it) so i got stuck in the restaurant.
No clue what ahcccs(des) is. I dont qualify for childcare assistance here. Applied several times over the years. 1. Even though im mixed i "look too white" not trying to be mean or anything but the caseworker told me that herself. She said that only minorities are ever approved. 2. I dont work and or go to school enough hours per week (45). Plus even if i did get it, somebody would have to pick him up from school and take him to the daycare and drop him off. Thats how i ended up with my friend watching him. Her son and my son are in the same kindergarten class.
That is a lot and sounds like you feel there is nothing you can do about it. I don't have any suggestions except programs such as wic. Since you work at a casino, could you get your shift changed to when your partner is home? That way it goes easier on childcare? As far as girls being awful to you at work, that's very tough. That makes it less fun to go to wotk than it was already.
She might have sent you a text because she wanted to give you time and space to think about her moving. She was not likely being insensitive sending the message that way. She may also have been too sad to tell you. Give her a call?

Do u have ahcccs(des)? They would help u out with childcare.
