I had an emergency c section in the year 2010.I was completely unconsious during c section due to general aenesthesia. Now I can try for vbac but doctor says chances of uterus stitches/suture getting open due to pressure or babys head might get stuck. I had last my baby girl after first c section due to meconium aspiration. So I dont wana take a risk of vbac. Hence it will be my second c section now.
Actually 5 layers is your common layers in a cesarean delivery but not always the case, it depends on your weight, previous cesarean deliveries and blood, skin, muscle and tissue. I have my 7th cesarean delivery scheduled for the 16th of October. My doctor counts each layer, sings about what he's about to clean cut or burn etc, He's awesome!! And fun!! I get a class on how each of my cesarean deliveries are being done, each time I have had one!! You will be either closed by dermabond (medical super glue), sutures (disposable stitches), or staples. It all depends on what the doctor sees while he's looking internally, he can make a decision based on how strong your uterus may be, the surrounding tissue and muscle, plus how close other organs are. All my incisions were in the same area, no incision is in the same exact spot internally, surgeons are experienced enough to play it by eye as they go, amazing huh!? My external incision scars are basically all in the same area, you can definitely see mine and I do not have extra skin or fat over them, they are very visible by eye. They are very light coloured! My gallbladder removal incisions are actually darker in color then my cesarean delivery incisions.
It might be different for every Dr. But I also counted 5 or more when watching a csection video. The sewing up itself takes about 30 minutes to an hour which would make sense if they have so many layers to go through. Are you scheduled to have a csection?
