light headed

I've been getting light headed a lot and I told my doctor and he said it's OK just make sure I don't pass out cause I might get hurt 0_o I was kinda looking for a better answer than that ... I don't remember getting might headed with my other two pregnancies ... Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal? I'm 16 weeks

Thanks for your responses ladies .. I have been checked for anemia and surprisingly I'm not anemic I thought I would be cause I was with my other 2 pregnancies but not with this one. I will try drinking more water I usually drink lots of water every day but lately haven't been drinking as much so that may be it. I just hope this doesn't get any worse

My dr blamed the hormones, heat, and dehyrdation. She ignored my symptoms of dizzy spells and headaches=drink water n take it easy n stay in a cool area! It only got worse that i couldnt drive or do anything bc was always so dizzy n almost fainted. Turns out I'm anemic now(lacking iron). Which they found out during my 3hr glucose test for diabeties. I recommend u request an anenic test(blood work for red blood count).

It is pretty normal. Short answer is you have much more blood pumping through your body now and it's centered around your baby. So, standing or quick movements causes the blood to shift and makes you super light headed and sometimes pass out. You can even get dizzy, blurry vision, room spinning. It should only last a couple seconds. If it's lasting minutes- not good. Otherwise pretty normal, drink lots of water!
