looking for opinions...

My OB recommended paragard for BC after little man gets here because I had mentioned that I havent done well with hormonal BC in the past. (I either get extremely moody or I completely lose my sex drive) I'm just concerned because I havent been able to find much reviews on it (that didnt seem like they were paid or fake anyways.) I just have worries about its effects because of what has happened with mirena users and the device migrating after a while, causing horrible period cramping/heavier periods because of the device being inside the uterus. I just want to know some honest reviews on the device before I just say yes because the doctor recommended it. I was originally looking at the implanon that goes in your arm, but he said that was hormonal BC as well and that's how we got to the paragard discussion.

I used paragard when my doctor told me I couldn't be on hormonal birth control also. I was fine with the paragard. I hurt for a split second when they put it in. After that I was fine. I didn't notice any adverse side effects. My periods stayed the same pretty much and it did not migrate or get lodged in my uterine lining. Turns out my hubby could feel the IUD strings when we had sex which was uncomfortable for him so I had it removed. Hope this helps.

Two of my friends got the mirenda and they hate it. They say its painful and aunt flow is super heavy.
