It can look different by person but it has about the same consistency of thick mucus. My first plug I lost had bloody showing so it looked like mucus mixed with some brown. This time around it just looks like a yellowy thick mucus. If you really want to know how it looks like I suggest a Google search. A lot of women have posted pictures on blogs to help other mothers.

How does mucus plug look like ? Is it milky white or with bloody tinged in it? Cause i had some whitish discharge 2 days ago and my back was aching but no pain or contractions in tummy , so i was wondering if it was mucus plug or what? And i still dont have any pain , ftm and 35wk 6days

I noticed it with my first but I was already in labor. Earlier I went to the bathroom and I noticed something similar and even looked online (it's been six years since I had my first so I needed a refresher sorry if it's tmi). Sure enough it looked like a mucus plug.

I've never heard of the mucus plug coming out to cause pain. When i was pregnant wih my son i had no clue, i wiped and there it was. And this pregnancy i have no clue as to if it fell out or not. So you may not even notice if you lose it.
